Wild Horse Wedding | Nik & Julie | Carova Wedding

If you’re looking for a destination wedding with the feel of being on your own compound, the Wild Horse event home is perfect for your wedding! It’s located in the most untouched area of the Outer Banks, the 4×4 area of Carova. While you do have to use a four wheel drive vehicle to reach the area and the conditions aren’t always ideal for driving, it’s well worth it when you get there! The Wild Horse event house via Twiddy & Co Realty is about 6 miles up the beach from the paved road and is on 10 acres of undeveloped land so it feels like you’ve got your own private beach!

While most clients either get married on the beach itself or on the Wild Horse’s oceanfront deck, Nik & Julie wanted to do something completely different – something original! So they got married in the dunes next to the house and IT. WAS. PERFECT! Natural wood folding chairs from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals blended right in with the sand and vintage rugs from Amaranth & Artifact lined the aisle. The rounded arch from Bells & Whistles was adorned with pampas grass and lush flowers. Before things got started, Julie and her Maid of Honor had hair and makeup done by Alicia & Kelly of Lovie’s Salon.

Nik and Julie wanted a very laid back reception without it feeling casual. So that meant minimal dining tables (we actually only had 4!) but lots of lounge seating and cocktail tables to mingle, plus a heavy appetizer and stations menu from Mike Dianna’s Grill Room where guests could eat without sitting down! Just because it was missing some of the formalities and a seated dinner definitely didn’t mean it was casual though – we had luxe velvet linens from BBJ Linen, gorgeously styled lounges from Amaranth & Artifact and rich fall flowers from Bells & Whistles. All that plus the most perfect November weather and a full moon worked perfectly together to create a magical night!

DJ Bruce provided the music for the night and kept the dance floor packed! Nik & Julie had the best golden light and sunset and you’ll see I just couldn’t narrow down my favorites! Too many gorgeous photos by Ryan & Rach not to share!
