Chris & Chris (easy to remember names right?!) were married last June at the Grande Ritz Palm in Duck! From the beginning, bride Chris knew exactly what she wanted and although it was an Outer Banks Wedding, she wanted it to be more like a romantic garden party than a beachy celebration! I think we nailed it! This was such a fun one to create and had so many unique factors like their backwards timeline with cocktail hour before ceremony and the silent disco at the afterparty – more on that later!

Grande Ritz Palm provides most of the needed rentals for weddings but we did rent a few additional items via Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals. The decor was created by Holiday House and no detail was overlooked! The bride purchased the beautiful floral runners and that was the inspiration for the full garden party look! I loved that it was a bright, fun color palette with a bold floral print!

Meredith of Bliss Wedding Co. officiated the ceremony and she’s just such a sweet, calm and collected gem. As I mentioned, the guests were actually invited to join a cocktail hour first where they mingled with everyone including our bride & groom, then everybody walked down together to the soundfront beach for the ceremony around sunset. The lighting was just beautiful!

While Chris & Chris took some sunset photos after ceremony, the guests enjoyed salads from Red Sky Cafe while waiting. A full dinner station spread was served after! Atlantic Cake Company provided the delicious cupcakes for guests to enjoy as their sweet treat.

DJ Bruce was on-hand to provide the music for the evening and played everyone’s faves! Now for one of my favorite parts – at 10 PM when the Duck noise ordinance kicks in, the DJ dance party transitioned to a SILENT DISCO! Chris rented the system online through silent-disco-rental.com and it was able to work directly with Bruce’s setup too! So they had 3 channels you could choose from – the DJ Bruce station and then two other playlists they had created.
