Pelican’s Landing is a one-of-a-kind event home for Outer Banks weddings, located in Corolla and it’s where Jody & Jonathan had their OBX Wedding last August! What’s unique about Pelican’s Landing is that not only do you rent the home (for flexible check in & out dates) but it also includes benches for your ceremony, some of your tables & more! They’re also partnered with Coastal Provisions, one of the fabulous local caterers, so that’s already built in for you as well! It’s definitely full of value and makes planning your destination wedding easier!
It was pretty overcast most of the day as the ladies got ready with the amazing team from Lovie’s Salon, and unfortunately the forecast was calling for rain. Sure enough, about 30 minutes before ceremony time it just started to pour! We waited it out for a bit, but with no end in sight made the call to move the ceremony to the tent. Thank goodness for a Plan B and a tent from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals! Having a tent (or another good backup plan) just makes everything run smoother and keeps everyones stress level a little lower! Rev. Jay Bowman kept everyone’s spirits light and had all of the guests laughing throughout the ceremony.
In true Outer Banks style, just a few minutes after the wedding ceremony was complete, the rain cleared out & the photographer & videographer team from Patken Photography (from NY) were able to take the wedding party out to the beach for photos! The guests were treated to traditional Carolina BBQ fare by Coastal Provisions while they were entertained by local band, The Crowd.
All of the decor was created by the bride & brought down to the beach and I was happy to bring all of that to life on wedding day. One of my favorite items of the day? The gorgeous Ombre cake that was baked by the Groom’s mom! A few other special touches that I can’t forget to mention: each table was named after a place the couple had visited together and featured a photo of them in that location and they also gave each guest the cutest sea salt favor!
