Corolla is such a great town for a destination wedding because of the many great wedding venues available! Liz & Dave chose to have their ceremony at the historic Corolla Chapel and then celebrated their wedding reception at the nearby OBX Event Home – Summer Moon in the Whalehead neighborhood. Summer Moon, a Twiddy Event Home – not only has a great oceanfront location with a wonderful poolside event space, but also has a semi-attached wing of the house that is perfect for a bridal suite! The ladies had hair & makeup done by Glimmer in that area and were able to get ready separately from the main house.
Before the ceremony, Liz & Dave chose to do a first look at the beautiful Whalehead Club. The bridge is the perfect spot for a first look and then afterwards, they took additional photos with the wedding party around the grounds of the Whalehead Club & historic Corolla Village.
The reception was impeccably decorated by Bells & Whistles who pulled off Liz’s vision of coastal elegance perfectly. The decor truly looked like it could have been out of Coastal Living Magazine! A big part of the decor came from the luxe linens rented via La Tavola – each table had a linen & a patterned runner and set the scene for the classic centerpieces. Half of the dining tables featured a compote with flowers and the other half had a mix of cylinder candles and loose greenery. The head table really showed off though with a full greenery & floral garland running the length of the table! The beautiful rustic Tuscan chairs from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals completed the look.
Red Sky provided the delicious dinner & libations, Just Desserts created the watercolor cake. DJ Bruce was the wedding DJ and made sure to play all the guests’ favorites.
Genevieve Stewart Photography was on-hand and captured all of the beautiful moments below in photos, including the best twilight session on the beach and Swell Video captured it all on film! Enjoy both below!
