Riley & Allen’s Pelican’s Landing Wedding | Corolla Wedding Planner

Riley & Allen had the most beautiful, heartfelt wedding  at Pelican’s Landing last Labor Day Weekend! They did an incredible first look & portraits at the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and around the Corolla Village before coming back to their Corolla Event House – Pelican’s Landing – for ceremony & reception. Unfortunately one of the scariest things about planning a Fall wedding on the Outer Banks is the dreaded word – hurricane – and Riley & Allen had quite a scare for their wedding weekend because of Hurricane Hermine heading our way. Thankfully the storm downgraded to a tropical storm and passed over us Friday – Saturday so by Sunday for the wedding we had mostly clear skies. Even though there were blue skies and sunshine, the wind was still a bit high and the beach in bad shape from the storm so we decided to move the ceremony to just over the dune line. Allen’s family was actually renting the house next door to Pelican’s Landing so we used their sandy volleyball court for the ceremony and honestly it was such a cool spot! The dune line made for a great backdrop and you wouldn’t even know it was Plan B! After the ceremony, officiated by a family friend, the guests walked right next door to the tented reception area created by Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals and enjoyed steel drum tunes by Minsky Delmonte of Hear Steel Drums Play! The stellar team of Coastal Provisions catering impressed all the guests with their dinner before Riley & Allen cut into a sweet naked cake provided by Carolina Cupcakery & guests were treated to Krisy Kreme Dougnuts from the Krispy Kreme Rocky Mount, NC location. The beautiful bouquets were crafted by Bells & Whistles and Lauren Elks had the ladies looking their best with professional makeup application.
