Roanoke Island Festival Park weddings are ALWAYS beautiful, but Shannon & Logan lucked out with the most perfect weather for their June 2017 wedding day! Such a gorgeous day for a wonderful couple – I’m getting all the feels as I reminisce!
Shannon’s ladies were by her side all day, starting at their rental home where they were pampered by the Glimmer ladies for hair and the Bombshells ladies for makeup! Speaking of hair, let’s just take a second to obsess over Shannon’s hair – they most beautiful strawberry blonde I’ve ever seen and I LOVE that she went with a long braid! Stunning!
The wedding party was chauffeured around by OBX Trolley and of course “Stella” makes for a great photo op as well!
Rev. Jay Bowman officiated the ceremony and as usual brought the perfect combo of tears & laughs! Did you catch the look on Logan’s face as he sees his bride walking down the aisle? I Do OBX Chairs setup the ceremony chairs and also the perfectly simple arch, you don’t need to compete with the natural backdrop!
The reception rentals were all via Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals. Shannon decided to do a mix of farm tables paired with gold Chiavari chairs and then round tables paired with grey linens and the rustic tuscan chairs – loved how the combination turned out! Again, you can keep the decor pretty simple at a place like Roanoke Island Festival Park where the natural beauty of the sound, the lawns, the cedar shake are already there, but the addition of the draping and the chandelier from Stage Right Lighting was the perfect touch to add the romance & elegance that Shannon was going for! The incredible bouquets and fresh florals (check out the wine barrel arrangements!!) were all crafted by Flower Girls OBX – I just loved the mix of the bridesmaids’ blush & lavender dresses with the pink bouquets, all complimenting Shannon’s gorgeous dress that had a touch of blush underneath!
Basnight’s Lone Cedar provided the delicious catering for the evening – guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour and then a buffet dinner! Lone Cedar even created the gorgeous (and delicious!) wedding cake! I love the “rough” icing look – it was just perfect mixed with the glam gold details as to be pretty but not too “perfect”. DJ Nogui of Coastal DJ provided both the ceremony & reception music and definitely kept the dance floor packed!
The photos by Natalie Heim are equally stunning – she captured the cotton candy skies like no other! Enjoy some of my favorite photos below!
This wedding was also featured as a “Real Wedding” in the 2018 Outer Banks Wedding Magazine!
