Corolla Event House Wedding | Rachael & Craig | Corolla Wedding

There’s just something about Fall Sunsets on the Outer Banks and I think everyone who plans a Fall OBX Wedding knows that little secret! Rachael & Craig were graced with one of those perfect Corolla sunsets that started with warm golden light on the beach and ended with a stunning sky on fire at the Whalehead Club. They rented one of Twiddy‘s event homes, Casa Playa, which is actually one of my faves for a couple reasons:

1) It’s lesser known 🙂

2) It’s more affordable because it’s technically not oceanfront, however it’s on the corner of Shad street and is 10 steps to the beach access and still has ocean views for days!

3) Directly behind it is a public parking lot so that solves a huge problem we face with most event home weddings!

4) It’s got a great tent-able back yard

Ok, now that I’ve professed my love for Casa Playa…. a few other wedding details! The ceremony was held on the beach right across from the house and I Do OBX Chairs provided the beautiful ceremony arch setup, the chairs & even the bride & groom’s flowers. I was obsessed with the bright pink bouquet Rachael carried! The ceremony was officiated by a friend of the family. Jessiah of The Captain Entertainment provided the ceremony music and then also the DJing back at the reception.

The back yard of Casa Playa has a great area for a tent, lawn games & more! Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals setup one of their gorgeous clear top tents which was stunning from day to night. They also brought the tables, chairs and all other rental needs. Currituck BBQ catered the evening with a delicious spread of dips for cocktail hour & then a BBQ feast for dinner. After dinner, we setup a dessert bar with the main event being the Duck Donuts display! The bride & groom created that super cool spinning Donut tower – it was a hit!

It’s probably not a secret that I love my job and a lot of times it’s because of the little things! One of those moments that just makes it that much sweeter was during the reception. It happened to be one of the little flower girl’s birthdays and as a special surprise, the bride & groom had planned for us to come out with a donut and a candle and sing her happy birthday! I included a couple photos of this in today’s blog post because I just love getting to be part of memories like this!

Everyone had a blast start to finish and thank goodness the talented duo of Ryan & Rach were onsite to capture all the moments from getting ready, through the spectacular sunset and to the last kiss on the dance floor! There were SO many great shots I had a really hard time narrowing it down, so enjoy the overload of photos below!
