Jennette’s Pier Wedding | Kate & Cullen | Nags Head Wedding

Kate & Cullen had a Nags Head summer vacation planned with their families at the end of August but a few months before that, they decided they wanted to go ahead and get married that week too! So we had about 3 months to pull together their OBX wedding and here’s proof that it can be done! Kate & Cullen chose Jennette’s Pier as their venue and as the backdrop for their day!

Much of what Kate & Cullen selected for their wedding didn’t fall under the standard wedding traditions but I loved that! One of those choices was Kate’s short sequined dress – it was so beautiful and such a fun, fresh take on a wedding gown! First Look OBX also gave Kate a natural fresh look for her hair & makeup to go along with her simple dress!

They also opted for a non-traditional timeline where everyone joined a light cocktail hour in the Jennette’s Pier Oceanview Hall first before heading to the beach for the ceremony. On the way down to the beach, guests were offered a glass of champagne to cheers with the newlyweds at the conclusion of the ceremony. I Do OBX Chairs setup the ceremony arch & chairs. By doing this reverse timeline, the ceremony was close to sunset so the lighting on the beach was just beautiful!

After the ceremony, Kate & Cullen took a few minutes of sunset photos while guests headed back upstairs to enjoy dinner stations catered by Cafe Lachine and the start of the reception! The dance floor & lighting were rented via Metro Rentals. We ordered custom table runners to add flair to the long family style tables and the centerpieces were mismatched white ceramic bud vases with simple white blooms from Harris Teeter.

DJ Bruce provided music from all genres to entertain the guests all night but the biggest crowd pleaser was probably the incredible dessert bar by The Saltbox Cafe.

The Jonathan Pillow Photography team was on hand to capture this fun celebration – enjoy some of my favorite images of the day below!
