Hemingway Event Home Wedding | Reka & Adam | Carova Wedding

The Hemingway is a Twiddy event home on the 4×4 beach of Carova and has some of my favorite things – cedar shake and a dune side event deck! It was the perfect location for Reka & Adam’s laid back wedding celebration!

The ceremony was held on the beach in front of the house, officiated by Rev. Jay Bowman. The ceremony was such as sweet one as it included all of the children of the bride and groom and really joined them as a family! The ceremony chairs & arch setup were by I Do OBX Weddings.

Back on the oceanside deck of the house, guests enjoyed catering by Steamers, including a full seafood boil! The spread was impressive…we covered the buffet tables with craft paper down the length so Chef Chris could dump the steamer pots out on the table and everyone could grab what they wanted & get messy with their meal!

To go along with that low-country boil style, we rented farm tables from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals and the matching rustic chairs.

The decor was all based around a coastal casual style, focused on the pale yellows and the natural elements like pampas grass. The bouquet Flower Girls OBX created for Reka was one of my all time favorites – it was just so natural and beautiful! The table decor was kept simple with more of the buttery yellow blooms. We also rented a pale yellow pinstripe napkin and cocktail linens from La Tavola Linens that coordinated with the florals!

After dinner, guests were obsessed with the dessert bar by Patty Bakes! Whoopie Pies, Cake Pops, Mini pies – it was to die for!

Local band, Jeremy & The Generations played for the guests a perfect mix of new & old and had everyone enjoying themselves.

Natalie Heim Photography captured the wedding day and all it’s special moments, including the crazy storm front that passed just to our North! We got super lucky that we just caught a little of the edge of it and it didn’t dampen our celebration! The weather on the Outer Banks sure can be unpredictable!
