One of the best event homes is Kill Devil Hills is the Atlantis event home via Twiddy & Co! It’s oceanfront and has a great backyard space for your reception!
Let’s real talk for a second: Just because a rental house is listed as an event home, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a good one! When picking one for your wedding, you want to make sure it has enough space for both Plan A AND Plan B! For the Atlantis event home, the lawn is large enough that you can add a tent, so you have a great Plan B. That’s why it’s one of my faves! You either need enough indoor space/covered outdoor space as a backup plan or the option to tent your outdoor areas. That’s what makes a great event home! Oh and good parking!
Danielle & Damon chose the Atlantis because it fit the bill for all of their wedding needs. They were comforted by the fact that we could tent the lawn, but rolled the dice and prayed for good weather so they could do the reception open air! We were super fortunate and did luck out with a beautiful day.
Their ceremony was on the beach in front of the house and they had a friend officiate. The benches for guests to sit on were from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals.
Danielle was glammed up by the Glimmer Salon team and she looked like a vintage bombshell!
For the reception, Renee Landry Events strung bistro lights across the lawn, which created that al fresco dining feeling that the couple was really wanting! The dining tables from OAR created a frame around the dance floor in the center of the lawn. All of the table top decor was a mix of vintage-look mercury glass vases and candles and accents of flowers from Harris Teeter.
The reception was catered by Steamers and even included an oyster bar!
The guests were entertained by The Bellevue Rhythmaires via Sam Hill Entertainment.
This beautiful celebration was captured by Genevieve Stewart Photography! We were so lucky to have a gorgeous day and a gorgeous sunset for these newlyweds! Enjoy some of my favorites from the day below!
