Black Stallion Wedding | Lauren & Mark | Corolla Wedding

The Black Stallion is one of the most unique event homes on the Outer Banks and very popular for weddings! A couple of the coolest features – the huge pool and surrounding patio and the AMAZING bridal suite 🙂 It’s also huge – 24 bedrooms huge – so many of your family & friends can all stay together!

I’m sure these were just a few reasons that Lauren & Mark chose the Black Stallion (rented by Kees Vacations) to host their wedding last May! We got lucky that day – it was gray and cloudy all day long but we mostly dodged the rain bullet and had an amazing celebration outside with just a few sprinkles!

Of course Lauren took advantage of one of those unique factors of the Black Stallion and got ready in the incredible bridal suite! The ladies of Salty Hair Salon were there to glam them up!

The ceremony was held on the Black Stallion grounds, in the backyard of the property. A good friend of the groom, Kent, officiated the ceremony. The Embellishers provided the simple but stunning arch as the ceremony backdrop. The Embellishers also created the bride’s beautiful all white rose bouquet! All of the decor was clean, simple, mostly white with….a pop of GOLD PINEAPPLES! You know that I died and went to heaven when I found out about that detail! We lined the ceremony with then, as well as accented the tables!

For the reception, Lauren & Mark chose to keep it casual with only a few tables providing seating and mostly just cocktail tables and places to mingle! Basnight’s Lone Cedar created a dinner stations menu with worked perfectly with this theme so guests could grab a few bites from a station but not need to sit down with a full plate. Think mini chicken & waffles, a chips and dip station, taco bar – YUM!

Adrian of Coastal DJ provided the music for both ceremony & reception. Island Limo was on hand to help shuttle guests back and forth for those not staying at the house. All rentals were from Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals. One of my all time favorite cake cutting photos can be seen if you skip ahead to below – the Icing on the Cakes cake was moved to the pool platform to be cut and with the lighting overhead, it’s just gorgeous!

The day’s festivities were all captured on video by Shane Z Moore Productions and by Coastal Shots! Enjoy some of both below!
