First Colony Inn Wedding | Jacquelyn & Kyle | Nags Head Wedding

The First Colony Inn in Nags Head, NC is one of my favorite wedding venues because it just exudes that “Old Nags Head” charm! The Inn is cedar shake siding with wide, open porches wrapping around the entire building – perfect for rocking chairs and enjoying the ocean breeze! The unique charm of the venue is no doubt what draws a lot of people in, including Jacquelyn & Kyle who tented the lawn next to the Inn for their September wedding last year. The ladies got ready in the upstairs library of the Inn, where the Glimmer team was setup to do hair & makeup. Everyone looked so natural and it was such a romantic look paired with their mismatched muted pastel dresses! Once everyone was ready, we walked just across the Beach Road to the Inn’s beach access and Jacquelyn & Kyle were married on the sand! I loved the lush greenery garland on the arch that the Bells & Whistles team created! Ceremony chairs were provided by I Do OBX Chairs & a friend married the couple!

After the ceremony on the beach, the wedding party took photos while the guests were invited back to the Inn’s lawn. They were greeted with drinks from Camp Cocktail and mingled outside before dinner. One of my favorite details of this wedding was the larger than life seating chart that welcomed everyone into the tent for the reception! Inside the tent was beautiful – a simple neutral color palette with accents of greenery & metallics was all that was needed! These simple but perfect centerpieces are some of my favorites to this day! Of course the head table kicked it up a notch with the greenery garland which was impressive! The first dance took place under a simple greenery adorned chandelier. All of the florals were by Bells & Whistles and the fun geometric lanterns were actually the bride’s own! All of the reception rentals were via Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals.

Dinner was provided by High Cotton BBQ and was a full southern BBQ feast! After, Jacquelyn & Kyle cut into a small Cafe Lachine cake for photos and then guests chowed down on Duck Donuts! The party was a blast and George of Coastal DJ made sure the dance floor was always packed! The evening was artfully captured by photographer, Griffin Hart Davis and videographer, Shane Z Moore Productions. Can we talk about how the newlyweds are just glowing?!
